Savoring the OPB Soundtrack With a Lasting Gift

Craig and Karen GreenleafThe soundtrack to life for Craig and Karen Greenleaf is provided by OPB. Craig enjoys woodworking programs while Karen tunes into Midsomer mysteries. Both can agree on Oregon Art Beat. “No matter what, it’s always thought-provoking,” Karen says.

For the Greenleafs, OPB is a traveling companion. When Craig commuted, Morning Edition and All Things Considered came along for the ride.

“I was better informed for it every day,” Craig says. It’s also an important learning outlet for the couple. “We appreciate the Oregon-centric programming,” Craig says. “Trusted information on everything from local history to wine tasting is fantastic.”

OPB impacts Craig and Karen’s life daily and was part of the consideration when deciding where to direct their legacy giving.

“We’ve been members for years,” Karen says, “but we wanted to leave a gift that would help significantly impact audiences through OPB for years to come.” Craig and Karen appreciate the inspiring and inclusive programs OPB provides.

“There’s something for everyone and it never disappoints,” Karen says. It’s a tradition they want to see continue to thrive.

“Private contributions to public programming are more important than ever,” Craig says.

As a result, the couple included OPB in a trust as a way to contribute to meaningful programming in the future. They’re excited to know their giving means OPB will continue to enlighten and inspire audiences for the long term.
