Members Who Value Fact-Based Reporting Include OPB in Will

Greg and Liiza BoydFor Greg and Liiza Boyd, Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) is a near-constant in their lives.

Liiza, who grew up listening to the station with her parents, never changes the station when she's in her car.

"Knowing both sides of a situation or argument makes us more well-rounded and more informed people, which is one of the reasons why I really appreciate OPB and NPR," she says.

Liiza and Greg also enjoy the variety of programs that OPB offers, including the entertaining ones.

"It's always fun to get into the car and the radio pops on and there's an anticipation of 'Oh, I wonder what I'm going to learn today,'" Liiza says.

While the Boyds have listened to OPB for what feels like forever, they didn't really start relying on it for news until prior to the 2016 elections, when they felt there weren't a lot of news sources they could trust. Then Liiza Googled the least biased outlet and NPR — and by extension OPB — topped the chart.

Now, the Boyds feel called to give back to the station they trust and that's so deeply rooted in their day-to-day lives.

Says Greg, "We have continued to update our will, and although we give to a variety of charities and are very focused on the animal world, we wanted to make sure a meaningful gift was given to OPB that would help encourage moving it forward with truth and education."
